Alissa Hutchison

Alissa joined us in 2020 after graduating from Massey University.

Alissa is particularly interested in dentistry, critical care, and anything rabbit-related. She also has a soft spot for our elderly patients, and loves making sure our geriatric patients are happy and comfortable. Alissa is heavily involved in caring for SPCA’s animals and makes weekly visits to the centre to ensure their well-being.

“I love animals and enjoy problem solving, so being a vet fits these two aspects together quite well! Now that I’m working as a vet I really enjoy seeing the pet-owner relationship and helping people to give their pets the best life they can.”

When Alissa’s not at work, you can find her riding her horse, walking her two dogs by the river, or spending time with her three cats and two rabbits. And of course, hanging out with her husband Josh! Her dedication to the well-being of animals, combined with her lovely friendly personality, make Alissa an exceptional veterinarian and a joy to be around.
