Payment Options

For your convenience we accept the following methods of payment:

  • Cash
  • Eftpos
  • Q Eftpos
  • Farmers Card
  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • Zip
  • VetCareFinance
  • Afterpay

Full payment is required at the time of consultation, or on collection of your pet. If you have any concerns about the cost of your pet’s care, please let the vet know before we proceed with treatment. We can talk through the different options appropriate for your pet, and the payment options available.

Estimates:
Our staff will be happy to give you a printed estimate for the treatments your pet is requiring. Please note that due to the nature of medical conditions it is impossible for us to give you an exact quotation at the time of consultation. Our vets will give you an estimate of the fees based on the clinical information available at the time. If your pet requires treatment or diagnostic procedures over and above that discussed at the time of the initial consultation, our vets will contact you to inform you of the situation and any extra costs involved. All amounts discussed prior to any treatment are estimates only and are not final quotes.

We understand that your pet’s medical care may have been unexpected, and have the following finance options available at Nelson Vets:

MoneyHub Logo
We strongly recommend pet insurance. It’s a way of budgeting for the unexpected, should your pet get sick or injured. There are a number of pet insurance providers, offering a range of cover levels from accident-only cover (like ACC for pets) through to comprehensive surgical and medical plans. We recommend taking a look online at the options, and seeing which fits your needs best. For a comprehensive guide visit: https://www.moneyhub.co.nz/pet-insurance.html
