Jacqui Hickman

BVSc - Practice Owner & Deputy Head Vet

Jacqui is one of the owners of Nelson Vets, along with Brendan and Adam, she plays a key role in running the practice and has a day to day role clinically. Jacqui has done Masters papers in Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology and Emergency Care. Her particular interest in eyes has led to us integrating awesome technology like an automatic eye pressure meter to test for Glaucoma and Uveitis. Due to this, we are also able to perform complex eye surgeries, including corneal grafting and entropion repair.

Outside of work, Jacqui is a mother of three, wife to Brendan and a doting slave to cat Cruz, all who keep her on her toes. She has recently taken up her husbands’ passion for Adventure racing at a much more social level!
