Carol Cathman

DVM, BA

Carol has been at Nelson Vets for over 17 years, making her our longest-serving vet.

With many years of experience, Carol has a large fan-base, and is renowned among clients for her exceptional veterinary care and warm, friendly personality. Her love for animals is evident in the care and attention she provides to every furry patient she treats. She is highly skilled in treating intensive medical cases, providing exceptional care for pets with complex medical needs. This has earned Carol a reputation as a go-to vet for challenging cases.

Carol relocated to New Zealand in 1994 to escape the harsh winters of Minnesota and now lives in Nelson with her husband, children, cat, dog and chickens. In her spare time she keeps busy and active with hobbies such as mountain biking, tramping and travelling. She even recently travelled to Auitutaki to do voluntary veterinary work and her highlight was meeting the amazing locals and pulling painful grass seeds out of cats mouths under anaesthetic!
