Jonathan Spurgeon

BSc (Hons), BVSc CertGP SAP, CertGP Fel.P MRCVS

We are thrilled to have Jonathan at our Saxton clinic, where he shares his extensive knowledge and experience with us two days a week.

Jonathan graduated from Bristol in 1991 and went on to own a seven-branch practice in the UK for two decades. In 2021, he made the move to New Zealand with his wife Jane and their three teenage daughters.

Jonathan has a keen interest in endoscopic and laparoscopic (keyhole) procedures, developing these skills over the past 20 years. He is currently helping to develop our facilities in these areas at our Saxton clinic, which includes providing training to our other vets.

Jonathan is loving the kiwi lifestyle and exploring the country, although he is not enjoy those pesky sandflies! In his free time, he enjoys running, playing the piano and indulging in a bit of PlayStation to improve his hand-eye coordination for keyhole surgery.
