What is Integrated Medicine?

Using the best of both modern conventional Western medicine and Eastern medicine such as acupuncture and herbs.

Use of full western diagnostics such as blood tests, x rays, cytology, and drugs combined with acupuncture and herbs to obtain the best outcome for the animal and minimise symptoms and side effects.

What is Western medicine?  

Western medicine has key foundations that form the basis of treatment. These include:

  • Physically examining the body and the associated symptoms

  • Diagnosing diseases and conditions using scientific evidence

  • Using treatments that are clinically proven to be effective

  • Using the best of modern technology such as MRI, radiation therapy, surgery to get the best outcome for the condition.

  • Western medicine uses a systemic approach, utilising symptoms and separate organ systems to determine treatments.

What is Eastern Medicine?

Eastern medicine Key Foundations are approaching diagnosing, treating, and preventing disease in a holistic manner.

  • Diagnose diseases by examining the entire body with a focus on imbalances, including feeling pulse and looking at the tongue.

  • Aims to treat the whole body not just the main problem area

  • Multiple factors that embrace the mind, body, and spirit.

  • Treatment includes acupuncture and Traditional Chinese herbs

  • Two animals with the same condition are not necessarily treated in the same way.
